I know it has been a good while since I have been on here, but for good reason. I am a supervisor on the Security team for the Greeley Independence Stampede, here in my home town, and we only have 42 days until the event so I have been busy trying to get that all together.
September Favorites, Summer seemed to just race by and in this month so many new polishes came out. Sinful Colors came out with there Kylie Jenner collaboration called Trend Matters that was a total of 28 polishes. They could be found half at Wal-Greens and the other half at Target. Then toward the end of the month the released the third part of the #3colorcollaberation by Kylie Jenner called Denim & Bling. All three of the Kylie Jenner collaborations (King Kylie, Trend Matters. and Denim & Bling came to a total of 63 new polishes for Sinful Colors. That is amazing seeing as last year Sinful Colors collections seemed to be a lot of re promotes. Sinful Colors didn't stop there they released quite a few more collections; there is the #pride collection which is 7 new polishes and they re promoted the glitter polish called Pride. They released the Vegas Glitz collection which was 7 neons , a white polish, and a top coat. They released the Star Struck collection which is mainly re promotes except for the new limited edition glitter.
That's a lot for Sinful and I, thank them. O.P.I. was no stranger to a lot of new collections in the first few months this year. They started out releasing the Hello Kitty Collection, which had 12 new polishes with a range of pinks, a primary red, blue and yellow, a black and 2 glitters. They then released the New Orleans Collection. Here they released another 12 polishes that are gorgeous. If that wasn't enough we then had the Soft Shades collection which is 6 new pastel shades. Then finally they released the 8 piece Alice Through the Looking Glass Collection as their Brights Collection for this year. Along with that 8 piece collection, they also released one limited edition so a total of 9 new polishes. There are also many other mainstream, indie, and drugstore brands that have come out with a ton too.
It seems crazy to me how they can keep coming up with new colors and collection ideas, but I love it and will be an avid collector for years to come. I am lucky that my career field runs hand and hand with my hobby of collecting polish. Being a cosmetologist I get the opportunity to share new brands with my clients and seeing them fall in love with a new polish in their collection makes me smile.
On to my September Favorites:
1.) O.P.I's Avoplex Nail and Cuticle Replenishing Oil:
Avoplex Nail and Cuticle Replenishing Oil |
I found that while I was swatching multiple polishes in a day and then taking it right off, my nails were beginning to be sensitive. When I would touch my nails it was not painful it just felt weird. I tried using my grapefruit cuticle gel from Gena Mani Spa that is a hydrating cuticle gel and that was working for my cuticles, but I needed something to help the nails and nail bed. I then found the Avoplex Cuticle and Nail Replenishing Oil. O.P.I. sells two versions of this, an on the go tube, or in a polish bottle with a brush. I use the polish bottle one. After I am done with the swatches I take everything off my nails and then paint them with the cuticle oil. I then let it soak in for 5 minutes whatever is left I message in to the cuticles. Within 3 days the sensitivity went away and I was able to continue on. Follow the link by clicking the words under the picture to where you can buy this wonderful oil.
2.) Pro-FX Super Greens:

3.) Nail Polish Remover with Sponge:
Lately I have been using the nail polish remover that comes in a jar with a sponge. I find that this is the quickest easiest way to remove nail polish. You simply insert your nails into the slots in the sponge and then the sponge aids in removal of the polish. Hard to take off glitter is much easier to remove with this method too. You can use any brand the one in the picture is Wal-Mart's version. They have acetone and non-acetone. I use the one by Rite Aid in their Renewal line. It has the sponge and also a wand with a sponge on it to help get the hard to reach areas line around the cuticles. And the best part they only cost a couple of dollars and last for a good while.
4.) Julep Maven Welcome Box:
So I took a chance and became a Julep Maven, only because they are offering a free 12 piece polish set ($168.00 value) free all you had to do was pay for your first box, which I have already customized my box and I am so excited about it. Click on the image and watch the video to see the 12 polishes that I got. I know that the 12 polishes can be different from box to box based on what I have seen on line, you take a quiz when you sign up that tells Julep what your preferences are. I left the links to Julep and the code so that you can get in on this 12 piece free polish set. Let me just say the quality and the packaging was 100 times better than I thought it would be.
Well that is it for my September favorites. What have you been loving this month? Who is excited for fall. In my next blog I will be doing a recap of the Fall Polish Collections that I have and I will give you my top ten fall polishes.
Also who is excited for Once Upon A Time to come back on ABC on Sunday??? Yes, I love that show so much and my favorite is Regina Mills(the Evil Queen).
