Christmas Eve Traditions- Fondue Dinner

I won't have a lot of pictures in this blog, but I wanted to share with you my families Christmas Eve  tradition. This will be my 34th Christmas and I can't wait. My parents made sure that it was so special and memorable. Now I get to celebrate Christmas with my with my nieces and nephews and see the Christmas magic in their eyes!!

On Christmas Eve night we get together at my mom and dad's house.  At about 7 o'clock we have dinner which is comprised of fondue.  Then immediately after that I usually take my nieces and nephews to look at lights to help pass the time before Santa Claus comes.

Fondue Recipe:

Things you will need....

Fondue Pot
Fondue Sticks
Oil

Cuisinart Fondue Pot
This is the fondue pot we use. It comes with 8 Fondue sticks and it is electric. You can get it on Amazon.com for $44.00 so it is seemingly inexpensive. Fondue pots if you purchase a good one and it is taken care of can last you a long time!!!

For the oil I just use vegetable oil but you can use whatever you normally use. Try to stick with a peanut or conola oil as others have a lower smoke point! Please remember: NEVER LEAVE YOUR FONDUE POT UNATTENDED OR LEAVE CHILDREN UNATTENDED.

Now for the fun part......the food!
This is what we have:
-Precooked Chicken Cubes
-French Fries
-Precooked Shrimp
-Bell Peppers
-Mushrooms
-use you imagination

Then we make a Garlic Butter which consists of 1 stick of butter and then Garlic Salt to taste!!

This is a quick and easy meal that is great for the night before Christmas! You can also ask people to bring something to contribute to the meal!!

Quick clean up and then you can do all the prep work for the big day!!
