12 Days of Nail Art---- Day 1- Tis the Season to be Jolly

Hello again everybody,

It is my favorite time of year Christmas and the whole winter season. I am going to be doing the 12 days of nail art. I will be posting either a design, or something to do with nail art. You can see everything I am posting by going to Instagram and following me @opalessencebeauty83

Day 1- Tis the Season to be Jolly

For this design I used only a few things. I used Orly's Bonder base coat. This is one of my favorite base coats. I get longer wear out of my polishes when I use this base coat.

For my polish I decided that I wanted to use a fun whimsical polish. A polish that says this is the season to be jolly. I used KB Shimmers Vicious Circles. I love this jelly red polish with lots of different size holographic glitters and then large holographic circle glitters.  I used this one because I wanted all that shimmer to stand out, from under the stamping. KB Shimmer describes this polish as

"A blood red jelly loaded with silver holographic circles in two sizes, sliver holographic hex glitters and holographic sliver micro slices.  This jelly polish works best in three thin coats, but those with shorter nails might get away with two."  KB Shimmer also recommends 2 to 3 coats for full opacity, however being a jelly polish you will still be able to see some nail line, but it will be faint. I looked on KB Shimmers website and it does say that this polish is out of stock, however I would keep checking back with them and I would look at eBay, and other such websites. Just be sure you research who you are buying from before making the purchase.

Then I used two of my favorite stamping plates that are from Uber Chic Beauty. I cannot say enough good things about this company. Their stamping plates are amazing. I used the Holiday Spirit (formerly Christmas 01) and the Holly Jolly (formerly Christmas 02) plates. They do have a 3rd Holiday plate and I cannot wait to get my hands on it. They have so many cool plates and they are reasonably priced.

The stamping polish I used was Mundo De Unas White 01. However, you can use any white stamping polish that you want to. I used the MDU white because it is highly opaque and easy to work with. Now I ordered my polishes and it did take  them a while to get here because they had to go through customs. They are coming from Mexico, and they are animal cruelty free. The 14ml polish costs $3.50, great price for the amount of polish you are getting. Due to customs they can only send 36 full size polishes or 100 mini polishes. I highly recommend giving them a try, the shipping on one polish was $5.00 and shipping for 2 polishes was $6.00. My polishes arrived fine, I don't know that you would need to get insurance. Another thing to note is that their website is super slow.
